STATEMENT

My work examines the overproduction of images, pop culture elements and the sociopolitical impacts of mass media. Through the exploration of multiple visibilities –consequence of our constant sway between physical and virtual realities– I document events which often come from social interaction and new tools and technologies, that I later integrate into my artistic practice.

The results are an intuitive and organic process of digital and physical manipulations, through the intersection of different techniques such as: classic documentary, photography, sculpture, installation, and video with an outcome in bi-dimensional or tri-dimensional formats  –some of them ephemeral–.

By reconfiguring visual poetics I document banal situations which are then transmuted into visual records that comment and criticize the aftermath of a consumerist society, its new ways of social representation, and the current atmosphere of lack of privacy and omnipresent surveillance.
